Corrections log
Every change this site has made to the published figures, with the reason and the source. 33 entries across 20 tariff lines.
Any site can republish a tariff. The question worth asking of all of them, including this one, is whether anyone checked the figures and what happened when they did not match. This page is our answer, published in full rather than summarised.
How the data was built
The figures come from the NBR Operative Tariff 2026-2027. Before launch, all 7,469 lines were compared against NBR's online duty calculator. Of the 7,469 codes, 7,399 agreed exactly — 99.84%.
Of the remainder, 123 codes were corrected in bulk from NBR's live data after a sample of ten was checked individually against NBR's operative tariff search and NBR agreed with the live figures in ten cases out of ten. The largest single correction was 85171300 smartphones, where the printed schedule gives customs duty of 10% and a TTI of 45.88%, and NBR's live system gives 25% and 64.25%.
Those 123 lines predate this log and are not itemised below. Everything changed since is.
Why the printed tariff and NBR's system disagree
In October 2026 we obtained NBR's published schedule as a PDF dated 11 June 2026 and compared all 7,450 codes it contains against our data.
- 0 description differences. Every product name on this site matches NBR's published wording exactly.
- 263 differences in the figures. On every disagreement we were able to test independently — 13 out of 13 — NBR's live system was right and the printed schedule was out of date.
This is the single most useful thing we have learned about the data, and it has a practical consequence: an importer working from the printed book alone can declare at the wrong rate. Where the two sources differ, this site follows NBR's live system.
