What Bangladesh imports
Every tariff page on this site says what a thing would cost to import. This page says what the country actually bought. Between December 2025 and May 2026, Bangladesh declared BDT 531,317 crore of imports across 5,438 HS codes.
Figures in BDT crore, at assessable value.
The two regimes
Commercial imports enter the domestic market and pay duty at the rates shown on each tariff page. Bonded imports enter duty-free as inputs, against an undertaking that they leave again as exports — in Bangladesh, overwhelmingly as ready-made garments.
The distinction matters because a line can look heavily taxed and still be, in practice, almost entirely duty-free. Bonded entries account for 34.9% of all declared value in this window.

Where these figures come from
Source: NBR Import Statement IM-4 (commercial) and IM-7 (bonded warehouse), December 2025 – May 2026, published monthly at nbr.gov.bd. Every eight-digit code was matched against the Operative Tariff 2026-2027. Values are assessable values — the customs value on which duty is charged, not retail or invoice prices.
NBR releases these statements as PDFs with no facility to look up a single code. The figures here are the same numbers, joined to the tariff schedule so that a code can be searched.
Sixty-one codes appear in the import statements that the published tariff does not list. They are included in the totals above and explained in the 61 codes NBR records but the published tariff omits.
