Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information BD Tariff(https://bdtariff.com) collects, why, and what choices you have. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
The short version
- You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, and we do not sell anything.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from visitors.
- Third parties — principally Google — set cookies to serve advertising.
- Your searches are not linked to you and are not published.
1. Information collected automatically
Like virtually every website, the hosting server records standard access logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and browser and operating-system identifiers. These are used to keep the site running, to diagnose faults and to detect abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you.
2. Search queries
When you search for an HS code or a product description, the query is used to produce results for that request. Queries may appear in server logs and in aggregate counts (for example, "this week the most searched chapter was 85"). Aggregate figures contain no identifying information.
3. Cookies set by this site
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. If a preference cookie is ever introduced — for example to remember a display setting — it will be described here first.
4. Advertising and third-party cookies
This site is free to use and is funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display adverts.
- Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies, including the
DoubleClick DART cookie and cookies set on
google.comanddoubleclick.net, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. - Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies and similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of adverts and to limit how often you see the same advert.
- We do not have access to, and cannot control, cookies set by these third parties.
How to opt out
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
- Every major browser allows you to block or delete cookies. Doing so does not stop you using this site; you will simply see less relevant adverts.
Further detail is in Google's own policy on how it uses data from partner sites.
5. Analytics
If a web-analytics service is used, it is used to count visits and understand which pages are helpful. Where the service supports it, IP addresses are anonymised. Any analytics provider in use will be named in this section.
6. Visitors from the EEA, UK and other consent regimes
Where required, a consent notice is shown before non-essential cookies are set, and personalised advertising is only enabled if you agree. You may change or withdraw that choice at any time through your browser settings and the opt-out links above.
7. Children
This site is a professional reference tool for importers, customs brokers and students of trade. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Data retention and security
Server access logs are kept only as long as the hosting provider's normal retention period. The tariff database contains no personal data. The site is served over HTTPS.
9. External links
Pages here may link to the National Board of Revenue and other external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any site we link to.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change with it. Material changes will be noted on the home page.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request relating to your data, can be sent to contact@bdtariff.com. See the contact page.
